Is it a sex blog? A mommy blog? A bitch & moan blog? Um, . . . yeah. This is my place to be totally honest. In my real life, I feel like I'm always lying to somebody about something. Here, I am totally honest. Brutally so. However, no matter what bad things I say about my kids, I adore them and would never ever really, say, sell them on Ebay. The husband, often referred to as Spousehole, is another story. Oh yeah - if you are under 18 (or if you are my husband), please leave now.

Did the earth move for you, baby?

As I'm sure you've heard or read (or experienced) the midwest experienced an earthquake early this morning. We are 400 miles from the epicenter, but Spousehole claims to have felt something. He said the headboard of the bed was rattling (it is especially prone to rattling). I didn't notice a thing.

I hope any and all of my friends and readers here in midwest came through the quake unscathed and property intact.

Did the earth move for you? Tell me about it.

I felt it, for sure. I'm about 230 miles away from the epicenter, and it definitely woke me up. I thought it was a train going by on my street, then realized that wasn't possible. I also heard loads of birds making noise, which is weird that early in the morning.

So yes, the earth moved for me.

100 miles appox. for epicenter. We could hear the ground rumble first, then felt the earth shake.
It seemed to come in two waves.
Totally cool!!
"I feel the earth move under my feet..."

I'm a state over, but I woke up out of a dead sleep at the time the news said it hit, so maybe it was more than what I thought was a need to hit the bathroom!

Not a thing. But hey, I was in California once when they had an early-morning quake, and I slept thru that one, too. . .

I felt a quake once, back in '80 (yeef, I sound like such a geezer). I remember it, 'cuz Molly and I were engaged at the time, and I was at her house on a Sunday afternoon. I was sitting in a big overstuffed chair, and all of a sudden, it just starts gently bouncing up and down. Lasted about 30 seconds, and left me looking around, asking "what the hell was that?" I heard tape of the Tigers broadcast later on, and the radio guys were pretty startled; old Tiger Stadium wasn't built with earthquakes in mind. . .

I didn't feel anything here...was still up, but I also heard the birds chirping like crazy around 4:30 in the morning. I had to check the clock..

(in Chicago) It woke me up, but by the time I was awake I thought it because I had to pee. My building is pretty solid and I'm on 6th floor. Might have been just the noise that woke me or.. i really did have to pee.

My boss felt it pretty well.

Did you feel it? Pish! Here on the west coast, as long as you didn't feel something fall on your head, we don't notice.

Just kidding. They can be kinda fun to feel!

Eek. The only thing I felt last night was heavy rain and grape sized hail pelting down on us since we were out when the crazy storms started here last night.

I don't get earthquakes in my neck of the woods. Not sure how I'd deal with that, lol. Glad you're okay. Hopefully no one suffered from it, at least nothing too bad.

It actually does move for me some nights, but not last night. I was alone. ;-)

200 miles away. Oh yeah, I felt it. It woke me up and I recognized it immediately from having lived in an earthquake zone before. Felt the house shaking and heard the walls creaking. It seemed like it went on for a long time.

Same thing again this morning, only shorter.

Oh the earth did move for me a few evenings ago, but it had nothing to do with the earthquake. :)

There was an earthquake in the midwest? Did it claim Matt Millen? I must google this current event immediately!
